Some of the most common questions we are asked are listed below. If you have any other questions that are not listed below we would be happy to answer them.

How much does a website cost?

That will really depend on the type of website you want.  Tell us what it is you are looking for and we will get back to you with a free no obligation quotation.

What if I want to make changes to my site once its live?

That’s not a problem.  During the first year we will make changes for you at no extra cost.  All you need to do is email us the changes you require.  As to how quickly the changes can be made will depend on what it is you want changing.   Simple content changes can generally be made within an hour of receiving your request.

Will it be a one off cost or are there any future costs?

Our quotation will give you a breakdown of the costs involved.  This includes the purchase of your domain name (normally this covers 1- 2 years) and the first years hosting fee.   These fees will need to be renewed on the anniversary of your site going live but we will write to you before expiry to let you know how much is due.

Costs for ongoing maintenance of your site will depend very much on what you expect that to be.  For minor changes we do not normally charge any additional fees.  If, however, there will be regular or fairly significant changes we may charge a fee. 

Changes for the first year are free of charge.  When your site approaches its first anniversary we will tell you what the costs will be for future years.  That will be based on the number and types of change that were made during the previous year.  For low volume, “simple” changes there is generally no additional charge.

What information do you need from me?

Ideally we need you to tell us the colour scheme that you like, the text you would want us to use and any existing logo or images that you have that you would want included.  Also tell us about or send us links to other websites that you would like us to use as a “guide”.   If you don’t have a logo we can design one for you.  We also have access to over 50,000 royalty free images for use on your site if required.

What is a domain name and what is hosting?

A domain name is the address that you type into your web browser to get to your site, for example www.domainname.com. Hosting relates to the setting up of your website on the Internet, thus enabling people around the world to view it.

Will I get an email address?

Yes we can arrange for up to 5 email address on your new site.

How quickly will my site be live?

This depends on the size and complexity of the site and the number of changes required to the initial design.   Typically though we can have your site live within 1-2 weeks.

Although my site has just gone live it doesn’t appear when I do a search?

This is because it can take a week or so for the various search engine “robots” to identify your site and capture the necessary information to get your site listed.

Can I find out who has visited my site?

No you can’t, however, we can link your site to work with Google Analytics, which we believe is the best statistics tool out there. Although this doesn’t tell you who is visiting the site it does give you a wide range of statistical information that will help you evaluate the success of your site.  For example which town/country they are from, which pages were searched, average time spent per page, whether it is a new or returning visitor etc.
